There is still time to book your place on:

Financial techniques & skills
A two day Library Association workshop on 26 & 27 September, at Heriot-Watt
University in Edinburgh

It will equip you with the skills necessary to manage and control unit
budgets and interpret financial information and reforecast year end
performance, with occasional help from accounting support staff.

By the end of the day you will be able to:
*	use financial jargon with confidence
*	assess the effects of the inter-relationship between income and
expenditure upon bottom line performance targets
*	forecast future income and expenditure streams
*	used computerised spreadsheets and 'what if' analysis to forecast
revised year end performance
*	take early corrective action to bring budget performance back into
line with agreed bottom line targets

Who will benefit from attending?
Library/information professionals who have managed, monitored and controlled
all or part of their unit's budget (which was set by other people) for less
