POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES at Queen's University
The School of Sociology and Social Policy at Queen's University,
Belfast offers M.Phil and Ph.D Degrees (by full-time or
part-time research in Sociology, Social Policy and Women's
Studies.
A limited number of grants are available for full-time
research students on a competitive basis.
The School specialises in research on Irish society in a
comparative European context and it has achieved a '4' grade in
all the research assessment exercises to date.
It hosts, solely or jointly, Research Centres in Women's
Studies, Social Research, Social Study of Religion, Higher
Education, Data Digitisation and Analysis and International
Borders Research.
School research activity is varied but postgraduate applicants
are particularly welcomed in five areas:
Gender and women's studies
Economic Sociology
Social Policy especially Health and Welfare
Political sociology
Policing, Crime and Criminal Justice
