Dear Colleagues:
We are studying the use of geosynthetics (placement
configurations and relative stiffness considerations) in mitigating
reflection cracking in AC overlays placed specifically over PCC
joints and cracks (sponsor: FHWA/USDOT). In addition to
numerical studies (FE based), we want to conduct laboratory
experiments to simulate the reflection cracking scenario and study
crack development and propagation.
We are seeking help in identifying appropriate experimental
techniques for laboratory simulation of reflection cracking. If you
could share your experience or guide us to some references it will
be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Khaled Sobhan, New Mexico State University
