Research Studentship in Highway Engineering
University of Ulster in conjunction with the Building
Research Establishment
The University of Ulster invites applications for a three-year
research studentship funded by the Foundation for the Built
Environment. The project will investigate the potential of recycled
construction and demolition aggregate in bound highway materials.
It will be based within the Highway Engineering Research Group of
the Transport & Road Assessment Centre, School of Built
Environment, University of Ulster. It will also involve periods of
study at the Building Research Establishment, Garston, England
and with a major UK highway materials company.
The studentship consists of maintenance of =A312,500 per annum
and payment of fees for three years, subject to satisfactory
progress. The successful candidate will be registered on a
programme of study leading to the award of the degree of Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD).
Applicants should hold the minimum of an upper second-class
honours degree or equivalent in an engineering or science subject
e.g. civil or mechanical engineering, geology, physics or materials
science. Applications are welcomed from all qualified candidates,
irrespective of nationality.
