Hello Susanna and others,
Sponges do happen to be caught on demersal fish and shrimp fisheries along
the Brazilian coast, but I know of no good data on that issue generated
down here. Every now and then, while passing by fisheries markets and the
like, I look at fishing nets for samples. This has yielded a bunch of
samples for our collection already. I found particularly rich fishing nets
at Salvador (Bahia), which, seemingly, had been used at Todos os Santos Bay
bottoms.
Not much, isn't it? Sorry ...
Yours,
Eduardo
