Martha Richardson was born in California and is now resident in Ballarat,
Victoria.
Her poems have appeared in both America and Australia. She won the 1995
Mildura
Festival Poetry Prize and the 1998 Seddon Prize for poetry. Her first poetry
collection 'In an
Empty Room' (published by Five Island Press) was commended in the 1999 Anne
Elder
Poetry Award.
Adib Khan was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh where he lived until 1973. He has a
Masters
Degree in English Literature from Monash University where he teaches History
and
Creative Writing. His first novel 'Seasonal Adjustments' won the Christina
Stead Prize, the
New South Wales Premier's Prize and the 1995 Commonwealth Writers Prize. His
second
novel 'Solitude of Illusions' won the 1997 Tilly Aston Braille Book of the
Year Award.. His
most recent novel 'The Storyteller' published by Harper Collins was
launched at the 2000
Melbourne Writers Festival.
