I suppose it's just incidental that Freud intended his method for neurotics,
and made this clear on numerous occasions. it's also fair to note that Lacan
has extended psychoanalysis for exactly that purpose. of course, if you
believe, ala Scott, that Lacan is a pseudo-scientist, then you'll see this
observation as without merit.
