I might mention that my department sponsors a "Larry Levis" prize for the
best first or second book of poetry each year.
It's a $1,000 prize with a free trip to scneic Richmond, Virginia to
collect the dough and give a reading. The closing date is usually in
January, with the award in September.
Larry Levis was a fine poet, originally from California, who published
with Pitt; he was here for a few years before his rather early death.
