Just want to point out with what little shred of brain I can muster that
the term Patriarchy is neither so simple nor so uncontested as the
discussion thus far seems to assume. And if its existence in Dworkin's
model in many societies is challengeable, and if the definition itself is
none too stable, the rest of her argument would seem questionable at the
least, which is not to deny that she's often talking about real evils. But
geometrically-constructed theories rarely succeed in describing human
realities.
Men's fantasies, by the way, are not in my view among those evils, and
unless we evolve a society in which nobody ever gets to say no to anyone's
demands for immediate sex it's hard to imagine how they could be made to
disappear under any circumstances, and perhaps even then.
