Hi Anthony
There are a number of books in Canada. Stephen has been a longtime Lenny
fan (after Bob D, of course, on whom he has also written a book soon to be
re-published in an updated version -- Alias Bob Dylan). His book on Cohen
is Leonard Cohen (Vancouver: Douglas & MacIntyre 1978 [undoubtedly out of
print]); he has material on Cohen in Signature Event Cantext (still
available from NeWest Press, & with much else of real merit & delight,
including stuff on Phyllis Webb [my first candidate for people to read],
bpNichol [my 2nd], & others) & an essay on Cohen & Webb in a collection
Canadian Canons, + an essay in the special Canadian Poetry issue, & then
editing this latest Essays on Canadian Writing); there's also Ondaatje's
early little pamphlet, also OOP, a strange loopy book by Dennis Lee, which
took on Beautiful Losers, Savage Fields: An Essay in Literature and
Cosmology. There are scattered essays on Beautiful Losers especially. Also
Linda Hutcheon did two small pamphlets for ECW Press titled Leonard Cohen
and His Works (1 on prose, 1 on poetry). I assume much of this can be
tracked down in libraries, especially in Canada, but possible elsewhere too.
