All this naming of names, spreading-the-word business is very good indeed,
so thanks to all for it. As someone getting back more heavily into poetry
after a few years' absence holding down some fairly labour intensive
employment in a certain branch of Waterstone's Booksellers whose name some
might have seen in the papers (what _is_wrong with Manchester, Randolph?
: ) - where would I start? o tempora, o mores!) what's really helpful is
finding out where to get hold of some of this stuff. Even fortunate as I am
currently to be living in a town with what (for not very much longer I fear)
is widely considered to be the best bookshop in the country, with a flat-out
excellent poetry section, you simply don't see very much of the small-press
material around. And while I don't mind making the effort to track things
down, it would be nice if a) it could be a little bit less of an effort & b)
if you could sometimes see before you bought.
as a for instance, at the moment I'd be very interested if anyone could
suggest where I could get hold of/encounter more of Maggie O'Sullivan's work
than's in Other & Conductors of Chaos, i.e not in the context of an
anthology?
Medbh McGuckian is a poet I used to like a lot, but I've rather lost track
of her since 'Marconi's Cottage' - any reports on more recent stuff?
Dave
