Dear Randolph and Everyone:
I think everyone is reading too much into this. The
National Arts Club's policy has been for the last 100
years that both men and women dress in business attire
while in the club. This is not my policy nor the
policy of the Dialogue program. But, since we are
using the National Arts Club, we must respect their
policy. They have also generously agreed to provide
us a venue and pay for the evening. This is
remarkable. Getting a venue space in New York City is
very difficult to get (near impossible) and especially
a venue that is willing to fund the evening.
Also, the event on Jan 10 is a press conference and
cocktail party...thats it. The actual program does
not happen until March. During the March programs,
wear what you want.
Now in regards to business attire, if you plan to
attend, please use your best judgment...for men and
women. Also, the National Arts Club does not screen
people. This event is open to all participants and
members of the press...men and women.
Thank You,
Ram
