> 9. Any remarks on 8 and 9: I am a 1999 doctoral graduate from the University of Sussex who is
trying to find a permenanant academic post. I consider myself to be engaged in the theoretical
study of historicist criticism that happens to be based on the seventeenth century, although my
interests extend beyond this, and I would take issue with such an exclusively historical
approach. I am generally interested in the implications of Derrida's work to the practice of
literary criticism, especially poetics and theories of historicism.I have more than a passing
interest in the 'experimental' side of contemporary British and Irish poetry, which I believe is
under-represented in humanities teaching.

> 11. Do you have any remarks about _Angelaki: journal of the theoretical
> humanities_?
I particularly liked Peter Hallward's excellent introduction to Badiou. I hope that the coverage
of poetry as in 'Poetry on the Verge'issue could be consolidated, especially given the
disappearence of small press poetry criticism (eg.Parataxis, angle Exhaust, Object Permenance) in
recent years.Given the historicist remit of most critical periodicals (especially for someone
with an interest in the early-modern) I hope that Aglelaki could uphold the importance of a
theoretically astute criticism.
As a suggestion-Antonio Negri's Insurgencies is (in part)a study of Renasisance republicanism
that has been ignored by historians. Could not Angelaki review a text like that.
