Well, Erminia's right about one thing: for most of us, the idea of writing
for money has to raise at least a smile if not a belly laugh.
And I think most of us work at other jobs.
but there are some who actually do do well enough off their publications
(or the surrounding felowships, prizes, etc), & I do't want to dismiss them
out of hand.
On the other hand, in these days of the declining sun, I would be willing
to grant that it's much like a hobby, something one pursues for 'no good
reason,' & shouldn't be confused with a 'real' occupation (whatever that
might be...)
