The way people use the term here, it means posting the same message to
more than one email list. This means that anyone who subscribes to more
than one of the lists receives multiple copies of the message, which is
perhaps mildly irritating. Thus the apologies.
A stricter definition is the posting of the same copy of a message to
multiple newsgroups. In this case, the recipients' software will
normally arrange to download only a single copy of the message.
