Now let me get this straight. If I post a poem to a poetry discussion
list and someone starts discussing it, I'm going to say "Hey who asked for
your opinion?"...

Would it be justified to expect that the validity of a scientific
experiment not be discussed too critically because that might hurt the
feelings of the scientist who performed it? Is poetry less serious than
science? Are we here to help each other figure out how we can fulfill our
function as artists of constructing consolations for the exactions of
mortality, or are we all just looking for dates?
