does anyone know a source of comprehensive advice on
the legal position and etiquette of Net publishing?
Is getting published on one's own site or someone
else's legally the same as getting published in
hard-copy mags, and do editors regard it as the same?
It isn't always clear in submission guidelines and
competition rules, for instance, whether Net
publication "counts" in the same way terrestrial does.
If you inadvertently send a poem to two mags at once
(as which of us has not, especially when they take so
long to reply, you've forgotten you ever wrote to
them) the editors will be cross; does the same apply
to web editors, who to be fair are far more courteous
and efficient? Do you quote web sites in the
acknowledgements in a book?
