Nor do I. I don't recall where I said such a thing. It was implied in the
comment I included, wisely or not, by a third party and I made a point of
the fact that I didn't agree that good work will 'always' be picked up by
the editors. Some poets write entirely in private - the will to publish is
'a form of casual despair'. Like 'singer-songwriters', it's rare to find
someone with the dual skills required to bring off both good poetry and its
publication. What I did say is that there is an ample number of good
publishers to cover all the good poets, which doesn't imply they are all
where they should be. Many balls are still rolling round the bagatelle and
some will never settle in a hole.
