Dear Scott
Just wanted to say (partly for the benefit of
Will Fox), that one of the best books on Pound
is by KK Ruthven (who taught me various courses
at Melbourne Uni - Modernist Poetry and Decadence
among them).
The book is called Ezra Pound as Critic, and is well
worth looking into. He is a noted Pound critic KK and also
an author in the feminist literary theory area. The research
in Ezra Pound as Critic, is extensive and fascinating, particularly
with regard to Pound as London based wonderkind (almost as much
of a dynamo in his activities, as someone whose name escapes
me, but who teaches at Cambridge).
I'd highly recommend his courses to Melbourne Uni under-
graduates, as well as that book in particular.
Lovely day at the footy too, Scott,
Hawthorn comfortably beat the Adelaide Crows. Dutchy
Holland kicked 6 in the first half and was B-O-G. Young
Daniel Chick kicked a ripper in the third Qtr.
cheers
Hugh Tolhurst
