I also have been a member of this list for a long time, but recently I have
been tempted to drop away because soooo many messages and their authors
have been offensive and boring in the extreme. The tone of voice of some
messages has simply been very childish, and these participants began to
take over valuable air space. When you receive 50 messages and only delight
in two or three of them it makes you wonder why you're on the list. I stuck
on the list because I am a friend of John's and I expect the yobbos to tire
of their games and go away, leaving a happy band of us cyber-wits to
discuss poetry, poetics and publishing.
I might also add that I often wonder, in the big wide wonderful world, if
growing up number six in a big family wasn't a good grounding for life.
Little spats seem to come and go all the time, so you learn to ride out the
storms, and revel in the calms. Ditto this channel.
I'm sticking in, and appreciating a change in the weather.
