I recently came across an English translation of a poem by Rafael Soto
Verges, which I liked. Does anyone know whether more of his poems are
available in English, in books or on the net? (My own Spanish is limited to
the ability to order in Mexican restaurants.) I've been unable to find
anything via the usual resources.

But strength alone though of the Muses born
Is like a fallen angel: trees uptorn,
Darkness, and worms, and shrouds, and sepulchres
Delight it; for it feeds upon the burrs
And thorns of life; forgetting the great end
Of poesy, that it should be a friend
To soothe the cars and lift the thoughts of man.
