Apologies to Anthony and Matthew for my confusion over who has
a fiver riding on the Forward Stakes: That's Matthew SWEENEY who's
up for best book at Lumsden odds of 8:1 on Anthony Lawrence's fiver,
while Matthew FRANCIS is, I believe, the author of the prize-winning
poem "The Ornamental Hermit" (and I hope I'm not the only one who's
looking forward to a sequel entitled "The Ornamental Dingbat").
Whew, good thing I'm not holding the purse! I've already got my
hands full with the Save the Gill Sans Fund (won't you GIVE?).
