My personal policy re magazines is that I'm prepared
to wait three months. After that, I feel entitled to
send an enquiry letter (which, given my tendency to
procrastinate, may be another few months after this.)
If I have no reply to this within another two or three
months, I think it's fair to send a letter withdrawing
the poems and saying I'll be submitting them
elsewhere.
Fortunately I haven't been in this position too often.
My best experience has been a mere *eight days*
between
submitting poems and getting an acceptance (with proof
and all), from the wondrous Patricia Oxley at Acumen.
Ah, if only the world at large worked like that!
Kona.
