Oh wow, tell us more about The Dingbat, John! What country
produced this cartoon, for example? I'm thinking of the quite
different political contexts (presumably) of 1950s Australia
and America. The subversive possibilities of a U.S. (meaning
Hollywood, obviously) cartoon character called The Dingbat in
the Red Scare fifties boggle the mind.
I mean, it could have been a Fifth Column-ender, right?
