Bungling thieves got off on the wrong foot when they broke into a shop in
northwest Columbia and stole 756 shoes. The haul of footwear was valued at
$16,583 US. but, unfortunately for the robbers ,they were all shoes for the
left foot. Must of left them "hopping mad" The origin of " the wrong foot"
relates back to medievil times when journeys, no matter how short, were
fraught with danger. It was the custom to throw a shoe over the building
before departure. If it landed on the sole then the journey was well fated.
