Hi
I personally I prefer tungsten lighting against strip. Strip lighting can
make burs appear stationary to the eye due to its strobing effect.
Regards flooring one piece linoleum flooring is better as carpet can retain
debris and water. In Europe I think carpets are supposed to be replaced
every 3
years under EU guidelines. There are no guidelines as regard lino unless it
has been punctured.
"Podosprays" or water spray drills are perfect for removing infected nail. I
usually remove as much of the nail as possible and tell the patient to
lightly debride the nail surface with a new emery board daily and apply
either Tee Tree oil or "Caneston". See every 4-6 weeks. Should the nail bed
be infected then refer for an oral antifungal as well.
Since I wrote this email some people have said about the aerosol plume
produced. All I can say is that in one clinic where I work we used to use
dust extraction and by the end of the day I would be chesty with the dust,
whereas since using water I do not feel any breathing difference after a
days work. Recently I have been using a visor made by Duprey to protect my
face when large volumes of spray are required.
