You had symptoms initially, so it is not really true to say that this
constitutes preventative treatment. There is a significant difference
between ongoing orthotic Tx to prevent *recurrence* of a condition which
has already demonstrated a good response to orthoses, and blanket
prescription of orthoses in the absence of symptoms, simply on the basis of
the functional measures not looking 'right'. We cannot really use a good
clinical outcome in the first scenario as a justification for broad
treatment in the second.
We must be careful to compare apples with apples
