FACULTY POSTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ASTON IN BIRMINGHAM
SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER/TEACHING FELLOW (3 POSTS)
Statistics, Operational Research and Information Technology
Salary Range: £17,238 to £30,065 pa (Lec & TF), £31,563 to £35,670 pa
(Snr Lec)
We are looking for people committed to high quality teaching and
research in any of the above areas. For IT posts applicants should be
familiar with Spreadsheets and Databases. Knowledge of Microsoft
Access, Visual Basic and an interest in intranet and World Wide Web
applications would be an advantage.
For the posts of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer you should be able to
demonstrate your capability to pursue high quality research and have a
track record of publication appropriate to the level of appointment
you are seeking. For the post of Teaching Fellow you need not have a
background in research and you may wish to specialise in teaching or
use the post to develop your potential in research, including
registering for a PhD degree. The appointments arise mainly out of our
recent launch of MSc degrees with core courses in Operational Research
and Information Technology and you will be expected to contribute to
teaching on these degrees as well as on undergraduate degrees of the
School.
The Senior Lectureship will be offered on a continuing basis. The
Lectureship will be for 5 years, in the expectation of a subsequent
continuing appointment. The Teaching Fellowship will be for five
years.
