Hi all,
I don't know how many of you have seen the TV adverts to recruit more
nurses into the NHS & pre-registration education?
The website is at: http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/ (N.B. the URL given in
the recruitment pack http://www.doh.gov.uk/nursing doesn't appear to be
working !). This uses the same scenarios used in the TV adverts, &
highlights the NHS Careers Helpline phone number 0845 60 60 655
Current NHS staff might be particularly interested in the section on
"What's the NHS like as an employer?" which includes a link to "Making a
difference" http://www.doh.gov.uk/nurstrat.htm and the statement "The
average earnings for a full time qualified nurse are over £20,000." (It
would be interesting to know whether that is a mean, median or mode ?)
Does anyone have any thoughts about how effective this will be? & is it
pitched in the right way to attract the recruits we need?
NB. For anyone who receives the recruitment pack the CDs included are
mac only format & will not work on a PC !!

Cheers
