At Saint Benedict's Hospice a recent discussion with nursing home
inspectors alerted us to a potential problem with the Arjo Rhapsody
bath. This model of bath has a whirlpool effect. It is possible
for parts of the whirlpool mechanism to become contaminated with
organisms such as pseudomonas.
We intend, of course to respond to infection control policy but we
are concerned that we will have to deprive our patients of something
which many of them find therapeutic.
We would like to hear from anyone who has experienced this problem
and how how they have responded. We welcome advice about other baths
which can overcome the infection control problems and provide the
same therapeutic effects
We look forward to hearing from you
Best Wishes
