John Drummond's 5th April email looks to me like pretty much the last word
on the subject and of course it won't be (!), but I'd like to thank all of
you participating on this issue because whilst I don't feel that I have a
view to add, I benefit from reading yours. You might like to know that at
present I belong to a small multidisciplinary discussion group which is
focusing on cancer/palliative care education and research. The group is new
and so we are trying to get to know each other and understand how we think,
both as individuals and as representatives of various professional/academic
trainings/immersions. We hope to generate some research initiatives and one
area of interest is quality of life but we are aware that many `tools' for
evaluating this seem to be narrow and inadequate, often missing what
patients themselves consider to be important. In the background lie the
philosophical questions that you have been debating. We might have a seminar
on them! Thanks - Louise de Raeve
P.S. Does anyone know how one should technically reference email material?
