Subject: Seeking information on security risks to volunteers in
humanitarian responses
Hello list participants,
As par of my dissertation research, I am seeking information and contacts
regarding security risks in using volunteers in international humanitarian
related activities. This may include the appropriate screening, training,
and supervision of volunteers, risk analysis performed by the organization,
and crisis response to such issues as kidnapping, injury, or civil disorder.
As a means of comparison, I would also be interested in similar issues with
paid humanitarian response personnel.
I would appreciate any comments, directions, or organization contacts in
this endeavor.
Thank you.
