Case studies from andhra pradesh and gujarat in india might be of interest
to you. Particularly rehab efforts involving thrift, micro-credit and
`livelihood reconstruction'. Many such programs have been focused on women
in cyclone affected communities. From what i have seen, there are lessons
of things that have `not worked' so well in andhra pradesh and seem faded
23 years after the major cyclone of 1977, as well as lessons of things that
seem to have worked in gujarat. There are others on this list who have
been, and are, directly involved with these programs, and may be able to
give more on this. I therefore am writing back to the list.
