David, you have given some very good examples. However, I do not see why
one necessarily specify a "squatter settlement" as in the first example.
Although most fires, more specifically forest fires, are caused by man (not
natural), some are caused by nature (eg: lighting strikes).
Rebecca, in addition to what has already been said, floods are another
example of natural versus man-made hazards & disasters. While most may be
considered "natural" some are caused by man such as when a construction
project alters the drainage pattern of a wetland area.
