As part of the European Union Research Training Network on Multiply
Charged Ions in the Gas-Phase, a postdoctoral fellowship is available
in the School of Chemistry of the University of Bristol, to work with
Dr. Jeremy Harvey.
The work will involve a mixture of computational and theoretical
methods, and will be conducted in collaboration with other groups in
the Network, based in Trento (Italy), Prague, London, Innsbruck
(Austria), Perugia (Italy), Berlin, and Vienna. There will be
opportunity for travel to further these collaborations.
The salary will be towards the lower end of the RA1A scale,
dependent on age and experience, currently £16,675 - £18,731 pa. The
appointment will be for a maximum of 3 years. The position can be
taken up from 1 January 2001, or sooner if mutually convenient.
You should have a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or a related subject,
and an interest in the field of gas-phase ion chemistry and physics.
Previous experience in this field, and/or scientific computing, ab
initio computational work, or other areas of chemical physics, would
be an advantage. The position is available through the Training and
Mobility of Researcher programme of the European Union, and is
restricted to nationals of EU countries (as well as some associated
countries). British candidates are not eligible.
