Postdoctoral positions in the University of Helsinki, Finland
Postdoctoral position funded by the European Community is available in
the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry for at least one and half years.
The monthly salary is about 2520 Euro. The successful candidate is
expected to carry out experimental research in the field of laser
spectroscopy, particularly developing new spectroscopic laser methods
such as dispersed fluorescence, CW cavity ring-down and double resonance
techniques, for molecular overtone state studies. For some of our
publications in the experimental spectroscopy see J. Chem. Phys. 113,
1795 (2000); 110, 1424 (1999); 107, 1680 (1997); 104, 488 (1996); 102,
3911 (1995); 99, 3277 (1993); Rev. Scient. Instr. 63, 5546 (1992); Chem.
Phys. Letters 189, 205 (1992) and for a review on our molecular
applications see Adv. Chem. Phys. 104, 41 (1998).
The Helsinki molecular spectroscopy group has excellent experimental and
computational facilities. The group consists of about 10 people. Under
the terms of the EC programme, the young postdoctoral researchers, who
are successful applicants for the supported positions, must be aged 35
years or less, and must be nationals of a Community Member State or a
State associated with the EC programme (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic,
the Republic of Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Latvia,
Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and
Slovenia). Subject to its final conclusion, an Association Agreement
signed with the Swiss Confederation is expected to enter into force on
01.01.2001. The young researchers cannot be nationals of Finland.
