There are (at least) two levels associated with the hush and also a
shaft. The level in the middle of the hush may indeed have had its
track removed by subsequent work - would hush working have
tended to obscure the level entrance? However, there is a level
above the hush: its tip is so small that it may never have produced
anything worth bringing out.
I think I was once shown a third level associated with this hush -
can anyone confirm?
At the NMRS meet on 12 August we walked back on the north side
of the hush and found a level of which I was previously ignorant. It
is not long, is in the limestone and is not marked on Raistrick's
maps.
