I am currently working with a geographer who is modelling the build
up of lead in flood plane deposits associated with the River Swale in
Yorkshire. I have long runs of production figures, but we have
problems with quantifying losses (the bit which interests him).
Can anyone on the list point me towards any sources dealing with the
losses of lead ore (presumably as slimes) from the dressing process
into streams during the period 1780 to 1880?
