Among the Tredegar Papers at this library is a letter dated 2 Feb.
1905 from Davis, Lloyds & Wilson, solicitors of Newport, to G. P.
Mitchell Innes, the agent of the Tredegar estate. The letter refers to
the un-named tenant of the Church Inn, Mynyddislwyn, refusing to give
up possession under a notice to quit.
A pencil note reads either "Father a survivor of great fire in
Abercarne Pit" or possibly more likely "Father & survivor ...". Can
anybody throw any light on this fire?
Yours sincerely
Stephen Benham
