Cragg Moor mines - these were small private collieries. The area was later
open cast.
Clough Foot - One of a group of three small private drift mines in
Calderdale valley once operated by Thomas Temperly. The mines were worked
for both fire clay and coal. Clay pipes were produced on site and fired in
kilns which were fuelled with coal from the drifts. The works were later
taken over by the Hepworth Minerals Group. The mines stopped production (I
think) in the 1970's.
