In the context of a secondary school project in partnership with the French
National Centre for Scientific Research, an archaeological experiment on
ANCIENT METALLURGY will take place outside the Central High School at
Ronchamp (Eastern France) on 8 June 2000.
This will take the form of protohistoric & medieval charcoal-furnace
reconstruction, iron ore reduction and metal production, the whole chain
from mineral to metal and from metal to object.
The instructors (engineers) are from the Sevenans Technology University
and the CNRS 5060 Metallurgy & Culture Laboratory at Belfort.
