Joanne: I suggest you contact the Federal Department of Natural Resources
(Energy, Mines and Resources) in Ottawa. They do have a substantial web
site with names of people whom you may contact. When I worked there many
years ago, they had records of most mining companies that had operated in
Canada. Another possibility is the Quebec Government Department of Mines.
