There are some photos in Collieries of the Sirhowy Valley, by Rayner Rosser
ISBN 1 874538 01 8. The site is now largely landscaped. According to the
above book Pochin was sunk in 1876, and was named after Miss Laura Pochin,
daughter of Henry Pochin, one of the directors of the Tredegar Iron and Coal
Company. It closed in 1964. 340 yards deep, employed 1696 men in 1910.

Can anyone tell me anything about Pochin Colliery? I have no other details
but I am pretty sure it is in the U.K. and it is definitely coal.Jean Tyler,
