According to Margaret Thomas's book "The Nailsea Coalmines" there are
remains of horse gins at Middle Engine and Old Glasshouse pits at Nailsea,
although I'm not sure if there is any machinery remaining, or just the
building which housed it. Middle engine was excavated in 1984/5 by Bristol
Industrial Archaeological Society and in 1986/7 by Avon Industrial Buildings
Trust, but I don't know if a report has been published.
She also mentions an 1848 inventory of the machinery at Old Engine pit which
include the entry "1 horse drum 12 feet diameter."
