>In reply to Martin Potts(19.2.2000) or other interested parties a collection
exists of photographs taken between 1969 and the present,of mines in
Bixslade,the
dog-leg valley up from the Stone Works on the dam of the lower Cannop Pond.
These items along with some maps, plans and notes, made over time in Gloucester
Record Office and on site, cover the years from 1965 when the Union Mine
drift still operated to the present operating Freemine.<
Concerning Bixslade, an article on the valley and its tramroad appeared in
the New regard, the Journal of the Forest of Dean Local History Society,
see:

Work is at present ongoing in the valley on the tramroad and possibly on
some of the mining remains. The valley provides a fine microcosm of the
industrial history of the Forest of Dean and deserves a little more
attention.
