Either way: This is very interesting. Could you and/or Richard Smith (or
indeed anybody else) tell me more about that in particular?
I found Richard's list both enlightening and amusing (this is how science
should be!). To add to this: Encyclopaedia Britannica tells me about the
use of borax in glazing pottery. Does anyone know more about that?
