Hello,
this is a reply to an inquiry postet QUITE long ago,
but a friend of mine used the term 'Malakoff-Turm' for one of
the masonry headframes I wrote about in response to Tony's
question.
Malakoff towers did not come to my mind in conjunction with
the term 'headframes', though I am not sure, if this term
would apply to them.
So, if you are looking for examples of Malakoff towers, there
are quite a few of them still around here.
(Bochum, Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund ... )
