The excellent book
Collieries of Wales: Engineering & Architecture
published by RCAHMW
ISBN 1-871184-11-8
has a lot of references to Glyn Pits. These include a photograph of the
pumping engine (made in 1845). There are several pages with a lot of
information about the pit and two detailed drawings of side elevations of
the engine house and stack. This book says that the surviving flat
wire-rope
vertical winder dates from 1856-65. If you are interested in more details
from the book let me know.
