The Pass family sold the Capper Pass business to RTZ (I think in 1968 but
subject to checking!) when they no longer maintained day to day interest in
running the company affairs and I believe had no successors within the
family who wanted to continue running the firm. The Bedminster site was
incapable of further expansion and another smaller site was opened up,
which was always referred to by the employees who had come up to Yorkshire
as 'the Malago'. This may be the smelting works on the Malago which is
referred to. One of the operations was a tin electrorefinery.
