Thanks for identifying the colliery on the print. Capper Pass treated
old type metals, drosses, Cornish tin and lead ores, Cornish tin slags and
just about anything else they could find with Sn, Ag, Pb or Sb in them.
Alfred Capper Pass one of the owners was a gentleman amateur
archaeologist and was responsible for one of the early excavations of
Silbury Hill. The company started a larger works near Hull in 1939 and
later consolidated all operations there after the war, 1958 I think. They
closed in 1990.
